1981 – The Beginning
Randy McDonald founded Quality Containers in Ormond Beach, Florida, with a mission to serve the cremation and funeral industries. His dedication to quality and service laid the foundation for what would become a trusted name in the field.
Our Story
June 1985 – McDonald Containers is Born
3 years after Quality Containers started, Randy changed the company’s name to the one you know today, McDonald Containers.
1995 – Business Sold, Moved to Daytona Beach
Randy McDonald sold McDonald Containers to Mike Kurey in 1995, who then moved the company to a 2000 square foot facility in Daytona Beach, FL.
2005 – Jim Faber buys McDonald Containers, moves to Columbia, SC
In 2005, Jim Faber purchased McDonald Containers from Mike. In an effort to keep his family in the city that is known to be “famously hot but surprisingly cool”, Jim decided to move the business to Columbia, South Carolina.
May 2011 – McDonald Containers moves to Rosewood
After 6 years of new products, increased customer base and expanding sales, Jim moved the company, in May of 2011, to a larger facility on S. Edisto Avenue in Columbia, SC. Due to this growth, McDonald Containers was able to expand their product line, increasing their ability to serve the needs of the industry.
2015 – McDonald Containers Opens a Second Location in Ewing, NJ
To better serve the needs of the Northeast US, McDonald Containers opened a warehouse location in Ewing Township, NJ. This greatly reduced lead times for partners in New England and enabled the team to grow with the rapidly expanding funeral market.
Today – Continuing to Grow and serve the Funeral Industry
Today, McDonald Containers looks forward to continuing growth and service as the funeral and cremation industries expand.
