Meet the Staff

Jim Faber, President
Jim was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He received his undergraduate degree and MBA from Grand Valley State University in Accounting and Marketing. He spent a number of years in public accounting and working in various manufacturing facilities, moving to South Carolina in 1997 to manage a manufacturing site there. Jim purchased McDonald Containers in 2005, and has thoroughly enjoyed working with and serving the funeral and cremation industries. He is married to Dawn with two children, Brad, married to Courtney, and Michelle. His wife Dawn is a professional artist and interior designer. Jim is active in his church and enjoys soccer, baking and designing/building various projects. He brings his passion for people and manufacturing to McDonald Containers and his goal is to exceed his customers’ expectations. Jim works hard to help our products "fly" off the shelf, literally.

Tim Wenzel, Production Supervisor
Tim was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina and has been with McDonald Containers since January 2006. Tim attended and graduated high school from Ben Lippen in May of 2006 and is currently attending the University of South Carolina and will be graduating in December 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in criminology and criminal justice. Also since 2006, Tim has served the community by being a Volunteer Firefighter for the City of Columbia/Richland County Fire Service. He enjoys traveling and doing missions work around the world and has been to over 10 countries serving others. Since working at McDonald Containers, Tim has traveled doing sales, deliveries and many more types of customer service to funeral homes around the United States, mostly on the East Coast. He brings his desire to serve others into McDonald Containers as well as making sure each product McDonald Containers manufactures is of high quality and goes above and beyond our customer’s expectations. |

Michelle Faber, Marketing and Administration
Michelle was born in Grand Rapids, MI and grew up in Columbia, South Carolina. Michelle graduated from Ben Lippen High School in 2009. She currently attends Clemson University, studying Management and Entrepreneurship, with the plan to graduate in May 2013. At Clemson, Michelle enjoys playing intramurals, cooking and attending Reformed University Fellowship. Michelle has benefited immensely from her four summers at McDonald Containers by learning the inner workings of running an exceptional company from her father, Jim. When referring to how well McDonald Containers is doing, Michelle typically answers that "Business is on fire!". |

Thom Watson, Delivery
Thom was born and raised in Charleston, SC, where he graduated from Charleston Southern University with a degree in Youth Ministry. Thom moved to Rock Hill in 2007 to begin working towards a Master of Divinity, while serving at a local church. He married his college sweetheart Amy in 2010; in 2011, they moved to Columbia, where they had their first child, Isaac. Thom is still working towards completing his Master’s degree, and brings his passion for serving others as a contribution to McDonald Containers, which he has been a part of since August 2011. Thom likes to say "We help customers put the 'Fun' back in Funeral Home". |

Barb Buskard, Direct Mailing
Barb is a Michigander through and through. She, being the mother of 5, grandmother of 14 and great grandmother of 5, is blessed with a lot of love. Barb escapes the cold Michigan winters and heads to Columbia, SC where she spends time with her daughter Dawn, son-in-law Jim and granddaughter Michelle. McDonald Containers is privileged to have Barb on staff during her stay here in the south. She enjoys attending sporting events of any kind, making beautiful quilts for her family members and reading a good Christian Fiction book. |
